When actor Sanjay Dutt appeared before the media during his furlough release, the shutterbugs went crazy.
The actor, who is serving a five-year jail term at Yerwada Central Jail, flaunted his chiseled six-pack abs, and then told the media that he lost a whopping 18 kgs!
If you think that jail can only make you weak and pale, then Sanju baba’s six packs will clear your misconceptions. Despite being locked up in a tiny cell with limited access to the outside world, and with food that has no nutritional value, the actor managed to get a body that takes rigorous gym workout plans.
Speaking of prison, you'll be surprised to know that there is a prison workout that jail inmates follow to work on their strength. The program looks something like this:
Day One: Upper body
Day Two: Lower body
Day Three: Core
Day Four: Rest
Day Five: Repeat
Push ups – 3 sets of 10 reps.
Pull ups – 3 sets of 10 reps.
Bodyweight Squats – 6 x 15 reps
One-Legged Squats – 3 x 10 reps Split Squats1 – 3 x 10 reps
Lunges – 8 x 10 reps Upper Body Pull Ups1 – 3 sets at maximum reps
Press Ups – 3 sets at maximum reps Dips – 1 set to failure
Crunches – 1 x 50, 1 x 60, 1 x 70 (1 minute rest between)
Oblique Crunches 1 x 80 (40 on each side) Leg Raises (holding onto cell bars) 1 x 40
Sanju had requested permission to carry his dumbbells to jail, but his request was denied. Sources report that Sanju baba found substitutes to dumbbells, and instead, lifts two buckets of water inside prison. Dutt’s discipline towards workouts shows that he strives hard to be fit even in harsh prison conditions.
